BLAMMO! Payola Drive Review

The Payola Drive overdrive is a must-have for anyone serious about their guitar tone. It offers a wide range of overdrive options with its "LESS / MORE" switch, letting you choose between a subtle boost or a heavier, dirtier tone. The combination of soft and hard clipping diodes gives you a rich, harmonically complex sound that's smooth at lower settings but can really growl when cranked.

The Payola Drive by BLAMMO! Electronics also features a passive tone control, so it's easy to shape your sound just as you want it. It's based on a circuit inspired by the legendary Tube Screamer, which means it delivers that familiar mid-frequency punch that guitarists love. Whether you want to boost your signal or create a full-blown overdrive, the Payola Drive has you covered.

Best Tubescreamer Clone

The BLAMMO! Payola Drive is often likened to the iconic Tube Screamer, and it's easy to see why—it has a similar tonal character but with some exciting enhancements. Just like the Tube Screamer, the Payola Drive delivers that signature mid-range punch that helps your guitar cut through a busy mix, while offering a smooth, natural overdrive that's ideal for solos.

But the BLAMMO! Payola Drive doesn't just copy the Tube Screamer; it takes things up a notch. Its "LESS / MORE" button adds a fun twist, letting you toggle between a light and heavy overdrive, which opens up a wider range of tones. If you love the sound of the Tube Screamer but crave a bit more versatility, the Payola Drive overdrive is definitely a pedal worth checking out.
